A few days in Duluth, Part 2: Chester Creek Cafe

On our second day in Duluth, we found another little gem, also known as Chester Creek Cafe. Given, after a meal at the New Scenic Cafe, any restaurant has a lot of live up to. But CCC did a fine job. The atmosphere was casual, and homey with big wooden booths and packed bookshelves lining all the walls. We noted that the books were all for sale, and we scanned the shelves as we waited for our food. And the food.. much of it local and organic. I started with a side salad with what had to have been homemade blue cheese dressing and tomatoes that tasted like they'd been plucked that morning. Husband went with the black bean quesadillas, that were loaded with cheese, quacamole and salsa. If we hadn't just gone for an hour-long hike through Chester Park, I wonder if he would have been able to finish it.

I went with a falafal wrap, keeping with the meatless pattern. The falafals were warm and had a crunch exterior and the yogurt dill sauce was loaded with fresh cucumbers. It was a delightful lunch, and we look forward to going back. Maybe next time we'll save room for a piece of one of their beautiful pies.

Welcome!
I love reubens, and rachels, and actually, most sandwiches. In fact, if its edible I'll probably like it!
